Ilmenite is often transformed into leucoxene.

Fe minerals. In soils developed on Jurassic limestones in Torcal de Antequera (Malaga) several transformations between iron compounds have been described:
pyrite --> haematite (pseudomorphic)

pyrite --> haematite --> goethite

These transformations are also in grains with a polyframboidal microstructure, so representative of pyrite.

These transformations have also been found widely extended in soils developed on dolomite, marl-limestone and limestone from Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous and Miocene periods of the SE of Spain.
