APROXIMACIÓN AL ESTUDIO DEL COMPOSTAJE DEL RESIDUO DEL ARROZ Y LODO DE DEPURADORA A ESCALA PILOTO

Abstract

In this work we studied the composting of rice straw – either shredded or not shredded - with sewage sludge using static piles with passive aeration. The results showed that the compost with shred- ded rice straw ground was kept at temperature above 55 oC during 3 days, enough time for pathogenic mi- croorganism reduction. Moreover, compost maturity parameters indicated that this compost was stable, while rice straw not shredded compost showed different results.
