Abstract
A group of 9 profiles have been studied in a carstic land located around Zafarraya. We analize the evolution of the organic matter and heavy metals like iron and manganese, the existing relationship among them and with the pH, Eh or clay content.
In order to do that, we establish 5 edaphogeomorphologic sectors that come marked by a modal edaphological unit, anunciating details about the possible genetic processes that gave it place: Ferrugination, melanization and gleysation.
Key words: Organic matter, heavy metals, Karts, Sierra Gorda, Zafarraya
