INFLUENCIA DE LA INTENSIDAD DE QUEMADO SOBRE ALGUNAS PROPIEDADES DEL SUELO DESPUÉS DE UN INCENDIO FORESTAL

Abstract. In this paper the changes in the soil after a forest fire are analysed according to some parameters. The particle size, and other soil parameters are affected in a different way depending on the intensity of the fire. Three zones were distinguished within a burned area and the results were compared with the results of a unburned control area. The amount of sand decreases with temperature, silt and clay increase depending on fire intensity. There was an increase of carbon in the low and medium intensity fire area and a general decrease of nitrogen. The potassium content increases in all zones and phosphorous only in the higher intensity zone. Calcium decrease in the low intensity area and magnesium decrease in all the zones.
