Abstract. Soil aggregate stability is a main factor controlling soil physical properties. This study was conducted to determine soil aggregate stability comparing two analytical methods (wet sieving and laboratory rainfall simulator) using the destructive energy of water. The soils used in this sutdy are Regosols, Cambisols, Phaeozems, Calcisols, Kastanozems and Gypsisols from Huesca province. 72 horizons sampled from this soils were used. A significant difference (p<0,01) was observed between the methods tested. Aggregate stability derived from the two procedures was significantly correlated (p<0,01) with soil organic matter content.

Key words: Aggregate stability, wet sieving, laboratory rainfall simulator, Huesca.
